Name of Sub Program: Special Needs Resourcing
Legislation: Day Nurseries Act
Description of Program: This program is for children with special needs enrolled in Day Nurseries and Home Child Care. Resource teachers assist child care service providers in preparing individual program plans and in providing support to the child's regular caregiver.
Who is Eligible: Children who are experiencing physical and/or developmental barriers are eligible.
What Criteria does an applicant and their family have to meet: Referrals may be accepted from:
- Physicians
- Public Health Nurses
- Speech Pathologists
- Psychologists
- Early Childhood Educators
- Other community agencies or professionals working with the child and family
If child care subsidy is also required, eligibility is determined based on the family's income. Name of Sub Program: Wage Subsidy Program

Description of Program: Family resource programs are a place where parents and caregivers can get answers to questions, information about services and programs that are available for young children. The program offers a range of free services including:
- Early learning and literacy programs for parents and their children
- Parenting programs that support parents and caregivers of young children in all aspects of early childhood development
- Information and training for new parents about pregnancy and parenting
Who is Eligible: All parents and caregivers of children aged 0-6 years
